Other than the magnificently beautiful boats, yachts and other water craft you see in marinas, nothing brings excitement like an old wooden boat that's under restoration. They have a certain character with their peeling paint and weathered wood and of course, a story to tell and a connection to history. I immediately think of the days when these old boats were in their prime and how seamen plied their trade by making a living on the open waters. Occasionally you can come across someone from that era and have them reflect upon those by-gone times.
Anyhow, I came upon this boat in Annapolis Maryland at the city docks.
I have no idea when this boat was built and there was no way to see the nomenclature plaque, which often has lots of info, without actually boarding the boat. After taking this photo I left feeling there was an untold story. Perhaps I will have better luck on my next visit to the capital city of Annapolis.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
