Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace - Las Vegas
Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

The Las Vegas strip is loaded with beautiful buildings and an array of architectural styles. One of the challenges is finding a vantage point where you can carve out a particular building of interest and avoid the typical crowded images often seen of towns like this. In the shot below, I was able to frame Caesars Palace in a way that separated it from most of the surrounding structures and eliminated the typical ground clutter.

Shot info: Nikon D5000 with 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens set at 38mm, f/5, ISO 200.

Many of the intersections in Las Vegas have these conveniently placed pedestrian bridges, allowing one to avoid the heavy vehicle traffic of the streets but also providing quick access to many of the hotels and casinos which are connected on either end. In this case we have Caesars Palace on one end and Ballys on the other.

Taken during the late morning, I almost passed up this shot because of the harsh lighting. I seldom shoot during this time of day unless my subject is in the shade. An hour or so earlier and this would have been a much softer scene.

Thanks for visiting!
