Early Bird Parking

Do you remember when you first started out photo-blogging (or blogging period for that matter) when content was your chief concern? You needed something to post and wondered where you would find a steady supply of material. As time passed you likely accumulated more images to process than you could shake a stick at. Great problem to have, I say. I've been reaching back for some of the shots from times past and discovered that many somehow look so different today than they did when taken. By that I mean some that were passed over in the past now hold a little more interest than before.  Strange how that works. Been there? In today's post we harken back to early Summer 2011 on one of those morning when I was out and about around 4:30-ish. I was traveling to Lancaster Pennsylvania and stopped in Columbia as the sky was transitioning. Locating a little high ground I was able to grab this "first light" image. Below my vantage point was a municipal parking lot near the Susquehanna River. The only thing on the lot were two vehicles with empty boat trailers, meaning the boaters had already launched and headed out. I was surprised that more people hadn't taken advantage of this early bird parking.

A closer look reveals some railroad tracks making their way along the edge of a residential area. That one building off to the left sort of resembled a train depot at first but it was really a warehouse of some sort. This little sleepy town was eerily quiet with no signs of life. I soon move on toward my destination. :-)

Have a great day everyone!
