First Snow of 2012

Welcome to another week in the wonderful world of photography. I hope you had a great weekend. This past Friday night the Mid-Atlantic region finally received it's first snow of 2012. It was a mere 5 inches in my area, just enough to provide a nice change of scenery for a few days and cause folks to fire up those snow-blowers. Temperatures have been in the teens and twenties all weekend, letting us know that Winter, like always, has arrived.

Below are a few nature shots I grabbed when the snow stopped falling and moved northward.

A small stream continues to run through the countryside above, while below, a wider body of water flows toward the Patapsco River.

Closing out this post we have a look at a small shed located on the edge of a nearby property. There is a small stream that flows beneath the structure, making it appear to be functioning. However, the snow on the wheel tells us otherwise. It's strategic placement makes this an eye-catcher though. ;-)
