Just Another Sunset

Just Another Sunset!

Each sunset signals the close of another day. A day that hopefully saw you do your very best to move closer to your life's goal.

"Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do every day what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer to your goal."    - Elbert Hubbard -

I was thinking about this recently as I was winding up another day and noticed the sun descending toward the horizon. With no chance to dash out and capture the beauty photographically, I felt a sense of accomplishment nonetheless. Like many of you, I've had a lot of balls in the air lately but it's what we do to arrive at that place in life we want to be.

While I missed the aforementioned sunset, I am happy to share one of many that I've captured along the shorelines of the Mid-Atlantic region. This image was created on Crab Alley Bay in Queen Anne's County, an inlet off of the mighty Chesapeake Bay.

The transition to Blue Hour has begun as heavy clouds roll in, signaling the advance of a stormy night. I remember the drive home, all the while wondering if I would get caught in the outbreak of thunderstorms before crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on my way back to the western shore. The answer came while crossing the 4 1/2 mile span. Needless to say, I've had bridge crossings that were more fun than this one.

In the end, all was well and I arrived home safe and sound. But the events of the evening let me know that this was NOT just another sunset.   :-)

Thanks for visiting!
