Level 6

I was on the hunt for images recently, finding myself on the top level of a parking garage overlooking an expressway where I was intent to capture some night photography. After getting a few long exposure brackets I turned to head back to my truck and all of a sudden it hit me. There before me was a scene reminiscent of a Jason Hines shot entitled P3, one that I thought was very nicely done.  Ole Jason started something with that shot, as noted in this awesome Tarrytown lighthouse image by Steve Beal. Since it was around 4:30 in the morning (yes, those numbers appear on the clock more than once) the parking garage was nearly empty so I had a nice opportunity at hand. During processing I discovered that garage shots provide many choices for the final version. I ended up with several, but offer these two for this post.

Level 6 - B&W

This is a rather simple B&W with a dash of selective color.

To contrast two processing methods I double tonemapped the image below which yeilded this sort of electric grunge effect.

An experiment gone awry? No, just me pushing the HDR envelop a bit. We never know where things may end up. :-)
