In my previous post I mentioned the fact that I had attended the 2014 Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. Today I we share a couple more images from that event. In this first image I wanted to give you a sense of how well attended the festival was. Keep in mind, this is another early morning shot taken around 6:45 am, not long after sunrise.
There was one constant throughout the crowd, nearly everyone in attendance had a camera of some sort. It was like a photographer's convention, which was nice to see.
Having now switch over to the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Prime lens, I found it to be a fun time gathering some candid shots of others doing their thing.
With the cherry blossom trees serving as a backdrop, a photographer takes aim at his current subject. The lady on the right was shooting with a smartphone.
These beautiful trees, a gift from Japan 102 years ago, are truly a crowd pleaser and to see them in full bloom after the long, brutal Winter we experienced was a real treat for everyone in attendance. It was a Spring coming out party of sorts. :-)
I'll be sharing more images from this event in future post and hope you'll enjoy them.
Until next time, thanks for visiting!
