For weeks now I have been looking forward to seeing the signs of Spring. Not that this Winter of 2012 has been extraordinarily bad, but simply because I am ready for the transition to begin. With that thought in mind, today we have a look at an image from very early Spring of 2012.
This is a typical early Spring scene here in the eastern US. Forsythia bushes show their brilliant yellow, Lilac trees sport that awesome shade of purple and flowering fruit trees (ornamental) show bright white blooms, all of which is represented in this image. Many trees will only show buds at this early stage and some, no life at all (late-bloomers).
One of the first sure signs will be the dawn chorus of singing birds and sightings of Robins, Red Winged Black birds and Cardinals.
So, at the time of this posting (February 18) we remain about 5 weeks out from this type of activity in the Mid Atlantic Region, but I sure look forward to it. :-)
