After the long, brutally cold Winter that brought us record low temperatures and record high snow accumulations, we are now only a few days from the start of Spring. I've been on the lookout for the early signs like Jonquils and Tulips breaking ground and Robins strutting about in search of worms. No luck so far but any day now, and it will be official.
I am so looking forward to scenes similar to the photos below where there is open water and warm temps to enjoy. Ice, while certainly melting and breaking up, currently remains in many waterways.
I miss these peaceful afternoons at the dock and can hardly wait to once again roam the coastlines and waterways of the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries. The image above was taken along the eastern bay on the Miles River in St. Michaels, Maryland.
Above, another shot from the Miles River coastline taken during the early Summer of 2014. Like many, my excitement builds as I await the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors again. There are so many things to see and photograph on my list now, probably more than I will get to before the return of the cold weather, but it's time to get started.
Thanks for visiting!
