Happy Friday, everyone! It's been a tough week time-wise and I so look forward to catching up on life this weekend. :-)

During a sunrise, we look down Memorial Drive in Arlington Virginia, northward across the Arlington Memorial Bridge into Washington DC. The white building in the background is the Lincoln Memorial.

It was a cold morning when I took this border shot and the location is across the road from this tribute to The Seabees.

After running this through HDR Efex Pro, the image was pulled into PS for some cleanup and masking. I did not like the way the roadway and sidewalk came out initially so I then processed the zero (0) exposure as a single HDR image, layering it below a background copy. That image was used to bring in the sidewalk and roadway with a better result.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a great weekend!

USCGC Taney

A quick post and run today, my friends. My apologies for falling behind on site visits and support, I've found myself bogged down on a project, which has severely cut into my time unexpectedly. In the meantime, I thank you so much for stopping by and supporting my efforts here. It's greatly appreciated!

Today we have a look at an historic ship, the USCGC (United States Coast Guard Cutter) Taney, moored outside of the Baltimore Maritime Museum in the city's inner harbor. She was built in the 1930s in the Philadelphia Naval Yard and remained in service for nearly 50 years. What makes this ship particularly special? It is the last remaining ship afloat that saw battle duty in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.

The ship was decommissioned at Portsmouth, Virginia and donated to the city of Baltimore. Roger B. Taney (pronounced taw-nee) was a Marylander from Calvert County.

I took the image below about a year or so ago. Enjoy!

Walk Into the Light

Happy Monday everyone! This past weekend, like so many others, came and went in a flash. It was one of those rare times where I did not take a single photograph, surprisingly. So today's image had been processed previously and this is a good time to have a folder of things to select. I'm off on a little road trip today and will be playing catch up on the other side.

Me and My Shadow

Happy Friday, everyone! Another lightning fast week has come to a close. Here's to a great weekend.

If you're an early riser and a photographer you'll occasionally find yourself caught between a rising sun and a setting moon.  Odd place to be, just me and my shadow.

I hardly ever do self-portraits and usually stay away from angles that have my shadow in the frame, but this particular morning was different.

Thanks so much for clicking by, I'll catch up to you soon.

Safe travels!
