In the previous post we watched some kids at play and I would like to keep with the fun theme in this post as well. Amusement rides have always been something that captures the imagination and brings a level of excitement. One of the earliest amusement rides is the now famous Ferris wheel, a staple of just about every venue. Designed by bridge builder George W. Ferris, he built his vision for the 1893 World's Fair. Ferris hailed from Pittsburgh and also had a connection to the railroad industry.
One of the many things I like to photograph are well lit amusement rides at night. I captured quite a few of these over this past summer and share a couple with you below.
In this first shot the Ferris wheel looks as though it may roll over the ice cream store next to where it was erected.
In the final shot for this post we have two rides, a Fun Slide and a Ferris wheel. I shot these on an angle to make them appear as one.
Enjoy the rides friends!
I'm heading off on a little road trip so I'll be visiting on an off schedule, but we'll see you out there. :-)
