At The Movies

Welcome to the weekend! We all love to reach this point in the week as it provides a little free time to hang out with family and friends. It's also a time when many check online listings to see what's at the movies and head out to see that must see production. Movies are the great escape and I have always enjoyed the experience.

Today we have a series of iPhone shots (with the exception of the very first image) taken on my last trip to the theater. It's my first offering of them here, but I thought I would join a couple of my photography friends, Edith Levy and Jim Nix, who also post iPhone images regularly.

So off to the movies we go!

The movie marquee is a common site around the world, although this particular style is a bit retro.

I told you movies were the great escape, so what better name for a huge theater house with 15 cinemas?

Let's head on inside.

Now just a minute here!

That image on the wall to the left is one of my creations, From Out of the Darkness. I always thought that would make a nice movie title but no one has talked to me about this. I have to see the management on this, they owe me at least a free popcorn. :-)

Any Les Mis fans in the house? That's a pretty cool poster board and would make a great collectible. Haven't seen it yet? You just past some videos.

Movie lightboxes which show "Coming Soon" or "Now Showing" productions can be very interesting and make nice art work.

Speaking of which, I spoke to the management about my art work in the lobby. I gave them an ear full too!

So after paying full price for my tickets and the popcorn... it's time to go have a seat and enjoy the show. :-)

Hey! Les Mis is here on the left in #3.

Enjoy the show and have a great weekend, everyone!

Cinema

It's been a couple of extremely busy days this week but I'm glad to have closed out 1 project and have an opportunity to return to a more manageable schedule. Some time ago I posted about the Museum of Industry, a wonderland of photo ops and a great place to expand one's knowledge base regarding industrial history in the great port city of Baltimore. Today's post begins the inside look of this highly valuable resource.

Once inside where the staff is excellent, by the way, you encounter a small Cinema that covers a portion of the rich industry history in this area. Most who enter this great museum will immediately realize that they are taking a walk back in time. ;-)

In the spirit of walking back in time I offer this B&W version of the Cinema.

Next up in this series we'll have a look at some cannery artifacts. There is an interesting display outside of the exhibit, as shown below.

Until next time... thanks for visiting!
