Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. You can always tell if it was nice by how short it seemed. :-) I'd like to thank the many visitors and those of you who took the time to leave comments during the past week and beyond. I really appreciate it.
Have you ever noticed how certain things just stick out and grab your attention while driving? This often happens when you travel the same route frequently. Such is the case and topic of today's post.
I always pass this very well kept property in my travels and for quite some time I have noticed that the owners use antique farm implements as decorative items. So being an opportunistic photog, like most others, I knew I wanted to grab a few shots of these items. The problem was, I could never seem to catch anyone outside of the residence, but knew that I would someday.
That day arrived recently when the owners were outside keeping things in the immaculate condition that it always appears, so I pulled into the driveway and introduced myself, then asked if I could grab a few shots. It turned out to be just a wonderful visit as the owner was more than gracious and happy to accommodate the request. The result, I have a series of images that I will post over time of the various farm implements placed around the property.
The image below shows some sort of disc harrow, used for smoothing out the soil after it has been plowed, according to my research. Strategically placed at the front of the property, it's what first grabbed my attention more than a year ago. If anyone has additional information about this type of device, please chime in below. I didn't want to keep the busy owners from their work, so I grabbed some shots and moved on, although we will definitely speak again sometime in the future.
