Today we visit the Washington DC area to read some of the inspirational quotes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the civil-rights activist and Preacher. The site is the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial, where you can see a photo I took of the 30-foot sculpture here. What is just as impressive is the wall of his inspirational quotes, part of which is shown below as the sun rises.
Yes, that is the Washington Monument standing tall along the edge of the frame to the right.
The wall itself is beautifully inscribed with many Dr King's famously assembled passages. There are enough to fill a book of course, but the first one in the photo above reads;
"It is not enough to say, We must not wage war, it is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it. We must concentrate not merely on the negative expulsion of war, but on the positive affirmation of peace."
The memorial is a wonderful place, one you should consider visiting on your visit to this nation's capitol.
