Natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay
In the previous post I mentioned my visit to one of my favorite getaways, Maryland's Eastern Shore. While there I took a quick side trip to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge which is located about a dozen miles south of Cambridge. The refuge, which consists of some 28,000 acres of marsh, wetlands and forests was established in 1933 to provide a habitat for migratory birds that use the Atlantic Flyway.
Soon the Spring season will once again be upon us and there will be people in the parks, enjoying the great outdoors and life in general. Its been a long, cold winter and nearly anyone you speak with, has had more than enough. But we should simply realize that warmer weather, while still some weeks away, is something to really look forward to.
